Ilfracombe artist Robert Hill displays his work at the Churchgate Gallery in Porlock
STRONG, colourful, energetic and enigmatic depictions of life and nature, go on display in Porlock, in the latest work by Ilfracombe artist, Robert Hill. It's part of the gallery's spring exhibition featuring new paintings from ten West Country artists.
Robert studied under one of Britain's leading landscape painters, John Virtue, who helped him to paint with a free, spontaneous approach. Robert's work displays a complex interaction between realism and abstraction, which he maintains increases his creativity and broadens his understanding of colour, structure and perspective.
The exhibition is at Churchgate Gallery, Porlock from Monday, March 25 until the end of April. Opening hours and details: 01643 862238.
