Ilfracombe pro will offer free introduction to golf
ILFRACOMBE Golf Club will invite youngsters to have a go at the sport at an open day next month.
Mark Davies, the club's professional, will offer brief lessons free of charge on Saturday, June 19.

Ilfracombe's veterans set up a meeting with Crediton in the Emerton Court competition by overturning a first-leg deficit against Woodbury Park.
They won 4½-½ at home for a 6-4 aggregate victory.
● Chris Norman and Peter Besnard won on the second extra hole to give Saunton victory over Tavistock in the Emerton Court competition.
Saunton led 3½-1½from the home leg but, after losing the first two matches, they were one down on each of the last three at the final hole.
Each of the Saunton pairings managed to obtain a half to set up a play-off with the score at 5-5.
● Royal North Devon's head professional, Iain Parker, lost in a play-off for the Devon County PGA Fourball at Padbrook Park in Cullompton.
Parker and Gary Milne, of Exeter, shot seven-under-par sixty-five to tie for first place with Dan Hendriksen (Teign Valley) and Paul Hendriksen (Fingle Glen).
Parker, looking for a third successive win in the event, had a chance to settle it after the Hendriksen brothers failed with attempts from 20 and 25ft.But the RND man's 10ft putt slipped just past the hole.
At the second extra hole, Dan Hendriksen rolled in a superb 25ft putt. Parker had to hole from 5ft but his effort lipped out.
Parker was also beaten by Paul Hendriksen in the semi-finals of the Devon County PGA Matchplay at Exeter Golf and Country Club.
Hendriksen beat the RND man 4 and 3 before defeating Barry Austin, of Downes Crediton, in the final.
● Holsworthy's team of Glenys Mead, Yvonne Bowler, Pauline Bezzant, Sylvia Caunter, Sue Griffiths, Gwen Adams and Sue Watters suffered a narrow defeat to Churston in the Sheelah Creasey Bowl.
● Portmore juniors beat Teignmouth 3-0. Sam Southon won 2-1, Matt Blake 5-4 and Mark Peters 5-4.
In the Palairet Trophy, Portmore beat Hele Park 3½-1½.
● Libbaton are through to the first round of the Palairet Trophy, winning 3-2 against Dartmouth.
