Impressionist Alistair McGowan heads for a Torrington date
ICHARD Madeley, Gary Lineker, Terry Wogan – he can do them all. Yet no doubt impressionist Alistair McGowan will have some new victims when he visits the Plough Arts Centre, Torrington in April. The top impressionist will be going back to his stand-up roots for a new two-hour show.
He'll be asking the big questions like: would the world be a happier place if Ed Miliband was Prime Minister? What are we really thinking while watching Shakespeare? And is Hilary Devey Jessie J's mum? Expect to hear everyone from Andy Murray to Colin Murray, riffs on everything from Jeff Stelling to bad spelling and at least one song about butter.

He wrote the play Timing (nominated as Best New Comedy at the whatsonstage.com awards) and the book A Matter Of Life And Death or How To Wean Your Man Off Football with former comedy partner Ronni Ancona.
