IT'S celebration time tomorrow (Friday, March 12) for Let's Dance Jive! It's five years since Sue and Jack Bater (right) introduced their Modern Jive classes to Barnstaple at the Ex-Services and Social Club.

The dance club has been a great success, teaching many hundreds of North Devonians to get up on that dance floor and 'Roc'.

Modern Jive also known as LeRoc, Ceroc MoJive is catching on across the UK. Danced to almost any style of music, it's a mix of jive, salsa, swing, cha cha and even some tango.

"Let's Dance Jive! is a fantastic way to meet new people, make new friends and keep fit too," said Jack. "If you're single, it's a safe, friendly environment, perfect for you. If you are a couple, get up from in front of the TV, get out and do something together."

The class takes place on Mondays and Wednesday. There are also regular monthly dances, numerous workshops to improve your dancing skills and various 'busks' to promote the dance, Let's Dance Jive! can often be seen at events for charity fundraising too.

Tomorrow Let's Dance Jive! holds a Modern Jive Dance Night and would love to have dancers past and present join them at the Ex-Services and Social Club, Yeo Vale, Barnstaple, 8pm. Cost: £5. Free parking. Bar available.
