John Hegley visits Great Torrington School and The Plough Arts Centre

CHILDREN in Torrington took part in workshops put on by performance poet John Hegley.

The author of My Dog Is A Carrot visited Great Torrington School and The Plough Arts Centre last week.

John read poems and played his mandolin for pupils at the school. He also performed his new show Peace, Love And Potatoes to students of the Plough's youth theatre group.

Spokesman for Great Torrington School, Louise Leonard said: "The workshops inspired pupils to come up with imaginative acrostic poems.
