THIS winter has allegedly been one of the worst we've experienced for a number of years. However, the sun seems to have finally come out, and now we are in March the sense of spring is finally on its way.

Another indicator of the change in seasons is the upcoming Walk for Life event run by North Devon Hospice.

Taking place on Sunday March 28, there are eight different coastal walks to enjoy on a gorgeous spring morning. Ranging from gentle strolls to challenging hikes, this event really is for all the family.

The walks take in some of our most beautiful coastal charms with starting points in Combe Martin, Mortehoe, Croyde, Bideford, Clovelly, Bucks Mills and Westward Ho! Another wonderful way of supporting North Devon Hospice is playing our weekly lottery, where with your weekly contribution of just £1, you stand to win one of 35 cash prizes! This week's £1,000 first prize winner is Miss Y B (40689) from Woolacombe. Second prize of £100 goes to Mrs A Hall (28279) of Barnstaple, while the third prize of £75 goes to Mrs I H (07897) of Barnstaple. Fourth prize of £50 is won by Mr Vanstone (41539) of Bideford and the fifth prize of £25 belongs to Mrs Evans (87971) of Umberleigh.
