JOSH TAYLOR ended his salmon-fishing season on the River Taw in style.
While fishing the Fox and Hounds water, Taylor recruited help from local angling guide Pete Tyjas to land his first salmon – a cock fish estimated at 7lb.

That catch was followed in the afternoon by a hen salmon of 6lb.
There has been an end-of-season flourish for Torridge salmon anglers with six fish caught at the weekend.
Fishing an upper-river beat, Grant Peters landed a grilse of 4lb on Saturday and fine cockfish estimated at 16lb on Sunday.
Charles Inniss's mid-river beat yielded a fine hen salmon of 12lb, while Martin Weeks caught a brace estimated at 8lb and 6lb, and Paul Ashworth landed a grilse of about 4lb.
It is likely several more salmon will succumb during the two-week extension to the season.
Jeremy Johnson caught a plaice scaling 1lb 7oz to win the Lynton and Lynmouth fundraising competition in aid of the local football club.
Paul Perriam was the runner-up with a ballan wrasse of 3lb 7oz, ahead of Craig McLoughlin in third with a wrasse of 2lb 15oz.
More than 20 competitors caught bass, mullet, conger, triggerfish and gurnard.
A brisk north-west wind prevented boats taking to the water and made conditions challenging for the shore anglers.

Tony Hicks caught a fine specimen roach of 2lb and a holidaymaker from Hampshire caught a 24lb 11oz mirror carp that had not been landed for two years.
Young Nadine Thomas, the granddaughter of lakes owner George Thomas, was thrilled with her second catch – a common carp of 2lb 7oz.

There have been some spectacular perch catches from Upper Tamar Lake, many topping 3lb and several exceeding 4lb – the best so far at 4lb 8oz.
A perch measuring 19in and estimated at more than 5lb has also been caught.
The British record could fall at a North Devon water as several have produced fish in excess of 4lb.

Alistair Curd's five-fish limit bag, totalling 12lb 8oz, won Wistlandpound Flyfishing Club's Beeney Trophy competition at Clatworthy Reservoir.

David Eldred, with three rainbows for a total of 5lb 8oz, won the club's previous match at Wistlandpound.
