WINNING TEAM: The Kingsley School under-16 gymnasts who won the Carita House competition.
The victory was a great start to the competition season and Kingsley will now go on to represent the South West at the National Carita House Finals in Stoke-on-Trent in March.
The girls' vaults were similar to the other teams from across the region but just gave them a narrow lead.
Their outstanding performance on the floor took them four points clear as they went into the group routine where they extended their lead even further.
Individually, Sophie Johns topped the scoreboard, with Daisy Scott, Lauren Parsons and Jasmine Boyd taking second, third and fourth respectively with only 0.2 points between them.
Completing the team were Gemma Beams and Aliy Lacey who, out of more than 40 gymnasts, finished 11th and 18th respectively.
Kingsley girls have won the regional title and the Carita House floor and vault events in their age group for each of the last four years.
