A BARMY fundraising lawnmower race is being held in North Devon this weekend which organisers have dubbed "Le Mower" after the famous 24-hour race in France.

The event at RMB Chivenor on Saturday, August 7, is set to involve teams of people driving lawnmowers non-stop for 2.4 hours to raise cash for Children's Hospice South West, Help for Heroes and the Soldiers Sailors and Air Force Association (SSAFA).

Practice starts at 10.30am with the racing between 11am and 4pm.
