'Licenced to Thrill' theme for BIdeford's New Year's Eve Party 2012
Organisers of the annual New Year's Eve Celebrations in Bideford have gone all 'Bond' this year to celebrate MI6's most famous secret agent, James Bond, as we help mark 50 years of Britain's most audacious fictional character…, 007!
With an action packed night in store, party revellers can expect plenty of glitz, glamour and girls from this year's event and maybe even an appearance from the great man himself plus a gadget or two that even Q would be proud of thrown in for good measure!!

This spectacular event gets underway with children from the local performing arts school in Bideford showcasing the talent they have in their midst, with DJ's, singers and dancers in what promises to be a right royal occasion.
Proving that nobody does quite the way Bideford does, ITV Westcountry's very own Bond lookalike, Seth Conway will be hosting the show from 9pm when he'll be joined onstage by Della who will be adding more than a little glamour to the proceedings as the pair build to midnight, including the now legendary fancy dress competition where we will be in search of the best dressed Bond and of course, the best dressed bond girl for a chance to win a glittering prize, entry on the night.

This year's firework display proves to be unlike any other with the organisers having created a musical sound track to the firework display featuring some of the most iconic film scores from the last 50 years of Bond.
Speaking about the show, Musical Producer, Phil Morgan said, 'It was a real challenge deciding which of the Bond Film themes to include in the display as there are simply so many dramatic and fantastic Bond themes but I reckon I've managed to take the best bits from the biggest themes which I am sure will complement the firework display that I know are planned. It should be a truly breath taking show.'
Bideford Festival Committee Chair, Councillor Steve Clarke OBE said, 'We've taken a considerable step forward in the planning of this year's event; we've more infrastructure going to be in place on the Quay, including a First Aid centre, somewhere for tired revellers to relax assisted by Bideford's Street Pastors, plenty of facilities and better transportation links in and out of the town with a temporary Taxi Rank being set up at the Kingsley Statue end of the Quay. We've got the usual fun fair rides on the Quay from 6pm, plenty of caterers and of course the mobile bar which will be situated on the Quay, not forgetting a glittering line up of entertainment planned for the evening.'
In line with the 'Safer North Devon Campaign' Festival organisers urge anyone attending this year's event to make sure they have planned their journey home at the end of the evening, that they drink responsibly, consider others around them and use the plastic drinking vessels that can be obtained from the vendors positioned on the Quayside to help make this event one of the safest and most enjoyable New Year's Eve's ever.
