Lions roar into final
NORTHAM LIONS came roaring back from two goals down to reach the Holman Cup final with a 4-3 win over Braunton.
It didn't look good as James Scott and Louis Murrell opened up a 2-0 lead and Gavin Souch and Richard Goldsworthy limped out injured in the first 20 minutes.
But Rob Crump scored from the spot and Ben Milburn equalised with a stunning 30-yard volley before half-time.
Substitute Chris Parkhouse and player-boss Cosmo Ayres put the Lions 4-2 up and goalkeeper Steve Ronald saved a Murrell penalty.
Ronald got hands to a second spot-kick from Sam Nash and although the Braunton player converted the rebound, Northam held out for victory.
They face the winners of Barnstaple AAC and Kilkhampton in the Easter Monday final at North Molton.
Extra-time goals from Karl Smith and Neil Bousahla (penalty) gave the Ammies a 3-1 win in the quarter-final at Shamwickshire Rovers after Andy King's effort was cancelled out by a late equaliser from Rovers' Ryan West.
