REVELLERS lined the streets of Bradworthy to take part in the village's annual carnival.

Colourful characters from the cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to the Cat in the Hat paraded through the village on Saturday night.

Music and entertainment was also provided by the All Stars Majorettes, Holsworthy Majorettes, Holsworthy Town Band and Bideford Youth Pipe Band who took part in the procession which rounded off a week of carnival festivities.

Carnival secretary Fiona Seggons said: "There was a great turnout and we had really nice weather. There were 27 entries and four visiting royalty.

"We were very pleased and there was great support from the local community.

"We are lucky in Bradworthy to have a very willing carnival committee and lots of villagers who all join in on the day to make the carnival a success.

"Thank you to every one who supported us and the fund raising events we held during carnival week - the wine and wisdom, a cider and pasty walk and a skittles tournament."
