MARKS & Spencer is opening a new Outlet store at Atlantic Village in Bideford.

The store, which is due to open at Easter next year, will offer 30% off the original selling price on most of its lines.

It will stock a range of Marks & Spencer products across womenswear, lingerie, menswear and childrenswear as well as home and beauty.

Centre manager, Jane McLeod, said: "Reaction to the news has already been positive amongst shoppers and existing retailers at the centre.

"Marks & Spencer has a strong pull, so to have our very own Outlet store offering such good value is brilliant news — I am really excited for the shoppers at Atlantic Village."

Nick Bullock, head of Outlet stores at Marks & Spencer, added: "We are delighted to be opening a new Outlet store at Atlantic Village.

"The store is in a great location and will offer customers an extensive range of high quality Marks & Spencer products at great prices, most of which are at least 30% lower than the original high street prices.

"It will also bring additional jobs to the area too."

It's not known how many jobs the new store will create.

“It always makes me laugh when you see the adverts for Atlantic Village which states "A great day out" What a load of tosh! You can do it all in about half an hour! I think M&S will bring some much needed attraction to Atlantic Village. I agree with Frank - All we need now is a Next!”

“These are the retail outlets that we should be attracting. All we need now is a Next like Clarks Village and we'll be laughing......unlike the people that have already visited and been very disapointed!
Now all we need to do is sort the High Street out!”

“You know I just have to comment about atlantic villiage. it has to be the worse shopping complex I have ever seen, well actually the complex is good, its just the shops.

I am not a real fan of M & S but I think its a good thing to bring more jobs to the area, excellent.”

“I always thought Atlantic Village was disappointing and rather thin for choice of outlets. Maybe with M & S coming, it would make an improvement, and others could follow suit.”

“Does this mean at last Bideford is moving onto the retail map? Investment like this takes us one step along the road to Regeneration with the prospect of additional jobs and more competition against Barnstaple etc.. I don't believe Bideford High Street shops will suffer, but will benefit from a higher shopping profile in the area. Good News!”
