Police were today unable to confirm whether the driver was missing teenager Luke Lyons.
Messages posted on Twitter overnight appear to pay tribute to the 19-year-old.
@Indiaabutt wrote: “I miss you bestfriend luke lyons already more than words can explain, i love you so much! Rest in peace<3<3”
@TaraCheetham posted: “Someone I know died today. I never believed we went somewhere after death. But now I really hope we do. R.I.P Luke Lyons”

Earlier yesterday, social media sites were awash with missing person appeals for the Bampton teenager.
A message posted on the ‘Missing Adults & Children in the UK’ Facebook page said the 19-year-old had not been seen or heard from since leaving his home in Bampton at around 6/6.30am yesterday morning.
The message went on to say he had not turned up for work as usual in Bideford and had made no contact with anyone.
It is understood he usually drives his silver Clio van to work, often along the A396 from Bampton, past East Anstey and onto the A361 North Devon Link Road at South Molton.
His cousin, Holly Ford, also took to Twitter to appeal for help in finding her missing relative.
At 8.27pm last night she posted: “My cousin Luke Lyons is currently missing. Last seen in Bampton at 6.30am.Please ring D&C Police if any1 sees a silver clio van in the area.”
Before posting the following this morning: “Can't sleep. Brain has gone into overdrive. Trying to work out how this world can be so cruel. #impossible.”
Police were unable to confirm whether there was a connection between the crash and the missing person.
