Fire crews came to the rescue of a man stuck eight metres up in a cherry picker.

The incident happened at 8.54pm on Sunday at Rose Lane in Barnstaple when the equipment developed a fault and he was unable to get down.

One fire engine and the aerial platform from Barnstaple went to the scene and crews rescued the man unharmed.
