A BIDEFORD couple is running the London Marathon in a bid to raise £4,000 for charity.

Katie Pratt and Adam Bott are running for Tommys which funds research and provides information on the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.

Katie is a 23-year-old account manager with advertising agency Bluesoup Communications in Bideford.

Adam, 26, is the new business development manager at Bideford-based Farm and Cottage Holidays.

He has run the marathon before, in 2005, but it is a first for Katie.

She said: "We did the Commando Challenge back in October last year which was fun but hard work so are looking forward to this experience."
