Mark Lake fires Hatherleigh Town to the top in Devon and Exeter League
A FREE KICK from Mark Lake gave Hatherleigh Town an outstanding win at Feniton in the Fresha Devon and Exeter League.
After 15 games without defeat and 11 successive victories, Feniton were beaten 1-0 as Hatherleigh moved level on points with them at the top of the premier division.
Danny Gray, the Hatherleigh manager, praised his players for a "faultless performance". "The boys were first class," he said. "I'm so proud of them."
The visitors had the chance to go ahead in the first half when Greg Mitchell beat the offside trap and was brought down by goalkeeper Matt Kingdon. Mitchell picked himself up to take the penalty but saw his effort saved.

Hatherleigh defended resiliently and grabbed the winning goal midway through the second half, Lake whipping the ball over the wall and into the corner.
