Mice work from Diana
AFTER reading the thank you to Diana Lewis in a recent edition of the Journal, I would also like to say a big thank you to her for coming to the rescue of four baby mice.
It was a late Monday afternoon when we went to open the French doors and saw two little brown blobs, as we looked a bit closer we realised they were two baby mice on the chippings. They were so cute. Then after about two minutes another two came out. They walked along the chippings and fell into a little ditch. There was no sign of Mum so after leaving them for a while we realised they were cold and suffering. We put them into a tin with some paper shreddings to try to warm them up.
We rang the RSPCA and they were shut so we rang the North Devon Ambulance and Diana Lewis. She was busy so we left a message then she rung us back and said she was going to come and pick them up. She arrived within half an hour with a plastic box with a rug in to keep them warm, and she told us that she would keep them in a special incubator and feed them with a piece of granary bread dipped in milk.
She was so helpful and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble even for a mouse and I would recommend her to anyone. Thank you Diana.
