Motorist heading 'towards Barnstaple' could be key witness to accident
Police are keen to speak to the driver of a Peugeot 306 seen heading towards Barnstaple who may have witnessed a crash that left a 78 year-old woman seriously injured.
The lady, who is from Copplestone, was driving a silver-coloured Volvo C70 when it was involved in an incident with a red Nissan Almera just before 5pm on Tuesday, November 27, on the A377 at Barnstaple Cross between Crediton and Copplestone. The road was closed for one and a half hours.

The driver of the Volvo was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where she has been detained with serious injuries.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to it, to come forward. They are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a Peugeot 306 which was being driven towards Barnstaple. Drivers who were travelling in the opposite direction may also have valuable information.
