GREEN fingered primary school pupils in Broadwoodwidger have been learning more about the environment.

Cathy Karniewicz - aka Mrs Recycle - paid a visit to give environment lessons to everyone at the school.

She said: "It's so important to teach children at a young age about how to take care of our planet. The children are our future, and I regularly see children passing on what they have learned to their parents.

"The steps that Broadwoodwidger School are taking are incredible. It is amazing to see so many children motivated for a good cause."

The children now have several different schemes in the school to help the environment, including colourful lidded bins for all waste generated from the school.

Mrs Recycle hopes to continue visiting schools in the area to promote recycling in years to come.
