Mugger Russell Lambert admits robbery in Barnstaple
Barnstaple man Russell Lambert has been remanded in custody after admitting a robbery in the town.
Lambert, 31, formerly of Church Grove, Barnstaple, admitted the offence at a plea and case management hearing at Exeter Crown Court before the Recorder of Exeter Judge Francis Gilbert, QC.

He admitted robbing a man of a Galaxy mobile phone and a bank card in a street mugging on November 20 last year.
Mr Richard Crabb, defending, asked for the case to be adjourned for pre sentence reports and urged the Judge to give his client bail.

He said: "Drink and drugs have been his problem and in the past he has a record for acquisitive crime. He is now in a bail hostel and making good progress."
Judge Gilbert studied the list of previous convictions and said: "He has failed to surrender three times in the past. He better stay in custody."
