EXETER City's rollercoaster journey over the last few years is the subject of a fascinating new book.

It's been written by die-hard Grecians fan Nick Spencer, a sports journalist for the Daily Telegraph, who grew up in Ottery St Mary and has supported the club for 30 years.

Nick, who was in the city on Friday to promote his book, said: "I have been watching from a distance but have always done my best to get Exeter on the pages of the Telegraph.

"I've enjoyed reporting on them and going to watch them as a fan when they were playing in the M25 area.

"I decided to write the book while watching City at Rotherham last season.

"I just thought there were so many great stories that, if the club was promoted again, it would be the time to write the book."

Nick's first book also contains 130 pictures taken by club photographer Keith Stone.

Nick added: "When they went up, it took over my life. If I was going to do it I had to do it then. I did pause when there were rumours that Paul Tisdale would leave but it seemed even if he did, it was worth recording the last six years."

Nick's book, Never Say Die: The Remarkable Rise of Exeter City, is released tomorrow and will be available from WH Smith and the club's shop. Half of the proceeds will go to the supporters' trust.
