HMS Pinafore

Barnstaple Amateur Operatic Society

Queen's Theatre, Barnstaple

Wednesday, February 8 to Saturday, February 11

A TALE awash with humour, sailors and love-lorn lasses sails into the Queen's Theatre in February. Barnstaple Amateur Operatic Society, who in recent years have gone for modern musicals, are ready to bring their buoyant touch to the classic comedy operetta, HMS Pinafore.

There will be an injection of new young talent in the production in the form of Daisy Ivan who plays the captain's daughter, Josephine, and Jack Bailey who becomes love-lorn sailor Ralph Rackstraw.

Familiar faces include Ian Gray as the Admiral, Sir Joseph Porter KCB and Mark Funning as the hapless Captain Corcoran.

Performances: 7.45pm with Saturday matinee: 2.30pm. Tickets: £11 (full), £9 (young person) on 01271 324242.
