Firefighters were called to a property in Barnstaple during the night after a storage heater caught fire.

Fire crews from Barnstaple and South Molton attended the house in Sainte Honorine Du Fay Close, Swimbridge, shortly after midnight.

Upon arrival, crews confirmed a small fire involving a night storage heater and used one hose reel, breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to deal with the incident.

The night storage heater was inspected and isolated for safety purposes.
