North Devon Council freeze council tax, fees and charges
A £1.3 million saving is to be made by North Devon Council over the next 12 months without increasing council taxes.
In addition the district council will be freezing the majority of fees and charges in the area.

Members of the council's Executive met yesterday to set out their proposed budget for 2013/2014. It will now go for approval by full council on February 27.
Brian Greenslade, leader of the Executive, said: "It is a tough time for all concerned including the council but I think by doing this we are doing our little bit to help the community with the pressures of budgets.

He added: "I am sure hard pressed North Devonians will find this news a great relief. This has been achieved through efficiency, sharing services with partners and hard work by members and officers.
"There is no list of redundancies to accompany the budget proposals and I stress again our commitment to use all methods possible to avoid compulsory redundancy, which would only be a last resort.
"Despite intensive lobbying of the government over the provisional grant settlement by ourselves and other rural authorities, the final settlement leaves us just £17,000 better off. However, we do think government has heard the message about the injustice of funding between rural and urban authorities.
"There are some very difficult years ahead for the council as the government cuts and cuts again its grant to local government. We will continue to seek to make North Devon Council a more efficient authority, working closely with partners, especially Torridge District Council, to deliver for the people of North Devon."
