North Devon dairy secures deal to supply products to Asda

A North Devon dairy has secured an undisclosed deal to supply a selection of its yoghurts to 15 Asda outlets across the region.

Stapleton, based at Langtree, near Torrington will see both its low fat and clotted-cream based yoghurt ranges stocked in the supermarket's chiller cabinets.

The family business has already been supplying a number of Asda stores since 2011 and will now have a presence in 27 of the retailer's South West outlets.

Stapleton was established by Peter and Carol Duncan in 1975 and now employs 35 people.

It specialises in the manufacture of what it describes as premium dairy products, using traditional production methods require no thickeners or stabilisers to be added to its range.

Mr Duncan said: "Our sales have been growing steadily.

"Together with our other supermarket contracts, [this] means we can continue to support employment in rural North Devon."
