NORTH DEVON continued their impressive away form with a 4-2 win at Duchy in Cornwall.

It was a sixth win in nine trips in Davis Wood League Southern One this season.

North Devon started strongest, creating two or three chances early on, but Duchy scored first when they were gifted a goal by a poor pass.

Sam Witheridge soon equalised and he almost had a second with a great deflection but was denied by the crossbar.

Duchy went close to regaining the lead but great defending by Jay Corden and man of the match Matt Brown, with some good saves by Sam Wormington, kept them out.

Just before half time, North Devon took the lead through Andy Buller, who finished well from the top of the D.

Ten minutes into the second half, Duchy equalised with a scrappy goal but North Devon then piled on the pressure and it told when Corden put them ahead with ten minutes left.

They secured the win soon after when Jay Hall drove in behind the defence and cut the ball back for Guy Cockcroft to finish on his reverse.

On Saturday, North Devon are at home to league leaders OPM.
