The Oasis Service Station in Braunton sells home-made curries
IT'S not unusual to pop into a garage for a pasty or a sandwich after filling up the car.
But the owner of a service station in Braunton has taken that a step further by offering customers home-made curries, which are proving a big hit.

Naeem Ahmad, who runs Oasis Service Station in Exeter Road, said: "We are probably the only garage in North Devon that has this idea."
It all started because he used to cook his own food on the premises when he worked long hours. His customers were fascinated by the mouthwatering aromas that would waft from the kitchen next to the till and would ask him if he could start selling his curries.

He cooks them from scratch, basing his dishes on his mother's recipes.
At the moment he is offering more than 16 varieties of curry including chicken, fish, vegetable and lentil as well as three types of rice.
He said: "People say they cannot believe that a garage is selling curry."
He also promises to give every customer a money back guarantee if they don't like his cooking. So far, though, no one has asked for a refund.
Naeem, 45, said: "My recipes are unique. I don't use any curry paste or artificial things. I use fresh ingredients."
All the meat and vegetables are sourced locally but the spices, which add a certain distinctiveness to his dishes, come from Pakistan.
In the first week Naeem sold out and that has been the case ever since. He said his customers keep coming back with flattering remarks.
One local woman who used to go to Bristol for curries, is glad she has found somewhere nearer for the authentic taste she enjoys.
