CRAIG OVERTON has opened the bowling for England in two of their first three under-19 one-day internationals against Bangladesh.

And the North Devon pace bowler got his team off to a fine start in the third match of the series in Chittagong on Tuesday. His figures of 7-1-21-1 helped England win their first match of the tour.

Overton, 17, also scored 11 off eight balls before being run out, as England chased 253 to win by three wickets.

In the first game of the seven-match series, Overton's international debut, he had figures of 9-2-47-0 and scored 13 as England were bowled out for 221 to lose by 44 runs.

The England squad is now moving on to Sylhet where they will play matches on Saturday and Monday before completing the tour in Dhaka on Friday, February 3, and Fatullah on Sunday, February 5.

Overton could have been sharing the new ball with his twin brother Jamie, but he had to miss the tour after suffering concussion when he was knocked out in a collision with a post during training.
