The parked car was shunted forward about six feet from the force of the crash and sustained significant damage to the rear-end.
The owner of the Voyager had been at a meeting in St Michael & All Angels Church when police announced there had been a crash.
They said: "I can't believe how much it has moved my car. I wasn't even on the kerb, I always park behind the white line. If it wasn't for those people stopping him he probably would have got away."
Officers have been in place directing traffic for the last hour but the road is now clear.

“********s like this sould lose their licences for a minimum of 5 years then have to retake a new drivining test and ALL costs to repair /replace the innocent persons property are bourne by the offender, if they dont have the money then goods should be siezed from their home and autioned to cover the costs, if that make any others suffer within the home then tough !!!the offender should have been more considerate of others, now their family can remind them”
