Panto drama at the skittle alley
A CAST of mostly Piltonians will tread the boards at The Green Man Inn this weekend for the annual Pilton Panto, and this year it's Cinderella.
Expect a traditional fairytale classic complete with all the usual heroes, villains and damsel in distress. Director Hamish Patrick is excited about the production:
"The most striking thing we've done is turn the skittle alley into a sort of grand-scale Victorian model theatre. Ken Gaunt of Furnfix designed this set and it was painted by local artist Tim Saunders. It really is a sight to behold.
"Also, thanks to our local costume designer Albert Linacre, the cast will very much look the part."
In support of Armed Forces Day at the end of June we are offering £9.99 Family/Portrait Photographic sittings to anyone who holds a Police/Military I.D card! That's a saving of £25.01! Ends July 31/13

Now in its 17th year, Pilton Panto will see Rebecca Garvey fill the leading lady role, with Liz Hayton as her Prince Charming, Bryn Rees as Buttons and Audrey Carney as the Fairy Godmother. Banter with the crowd will come from Ugly Sisters Steve Laramy and Chris Brent.
"Over the years we have raised lots of money for local charities," said Hamish. "This year proceeds will go to North Devon Hospice, The Pilton Festival and the village hall."
