Penalty sends Bideford on the way to Southern League defeat
BIDEFORD were disappointed not to take at least a point from Leamington after matching the Evo-Stik League premier division favourites for long spells before suffering a 2-1 defeat.
Kevin Squire fired the Robins ahead in the first half from a corner by Ian Sampson.

FIRED IN: Kevin Squire gave Bideford the lead in their Evo-Stik League Southern match at Leamington.
But the match turned when Jack Furzer was judged to have handled the ball and Richard Batchelor coolly stroked the penalty home.
The visitors made a bright start to the second half with Squire having a shot cleared off the line after combining well with Sean Downing.

Squire also had a shot saved by Niall Cooper before Leamington grabbed the lead on the counter attack through James Husband.
After staying in contention with a goalline block from Aaron Harper-Penman and a fine save by Paul Harper, Bideford almost snatched a deserved equaliser as Squire hit the post.
Bideford return to action on Wednesday evening with a Devon St Luke's Cup tie at Elburton Villa.
