People on Exmoor left without phone lines for 14 hours
Nearly 2,600 people on Exmoor were left without phone lines for 14 hours yesterday.
A BT cable had been damaged resulting in landlines being down from 2pm until 3am this morning.

People in Lynton, Brayford, Parracombe and Brendon were all affected.
Jason Mann, from BT, said: "Our engineers worked throughout the night and got the line up and running again as soon as they could.

"It doesn't seem like mobile phones were affected just landlines which would also mean broadband and credit card machines weren't working.
But Lynton fireman Chris Hope said his mobile hadn't been working.
Chris added he had a sleepless night after the fire crews took it in turns to man the station knowing that people in the area couldn't dial 999.
He said: "It just shows how much you rely on things like this when they don't work. We had to take it turns to do two hours each, we had to rely on our radios. I was on from 1-4am and had to call BT line test every 15 minutes.
"We teamed up with the police and coastguard to make sure we had everything covered.
"In the afternoon we were coming back from a job on the A39 and needed to fill the fire engine up with diesel but the card machine in the shop was down so we couldn't pay, it just affected everything.
"A lot of people with elderly parents in the area usually call them in the evenings to check on them but last night they couldn't."
