TWO conservation groups are asking people in North Devon to record sightings of hedgehogs.

The People's Trust for Endangered Species (PTES) and the British Hedgehog Preservation Society (BHPS) are appealing to people to take part in a new wildlife survey.

The results of the research will be used to help determine whether climate change is having an impact on the creatures. It will look at any changes to when hedgehogs emerge from hibernation.

You can sign up to the survey at www.hedgehogstreet.org.

    “@Bangtastic

I suggest you check. It has been widely acknowledged that badgers have acquired a taste for hedgehogs, especially when other food sources are in short supply. Even the hedgehog association are aware of this fact.”

    “Climate Change!!! . . . BULL.

Cull the badgers and start saving the Hedgehogs and all the ground nesting birds.

Their decline coincides EXACTLY with the totally unnecessary protection of badgers and explosion in badger numbers.

It can't be a very pleasant death being skinned alive then eaten.”
