A photography competition has been launched on a network of local news websites to showcase inspiring images of people and communities across England.

Communities In Focus will run on the competition pages of all "Thisis" and "localpeople" websites across England until December 19.

The competition will be run in partnership between the Big Lottery Fund and national communications charity Media Trust along with Northcliffe Digital, which owns the community websites.

It includes two categories: one for inspiring images of community life, and the other for photos of projects funded by the Big Lottery Fund making a positive difference to people and communities.
