Police and ambulance called after woman found ‘confused’ in road outside Sticklepath School
Police and ambulance crews were called to Bickington Road in Barnstaple this morning after a woman was found ‘cold and confused’ in the road.
A member of the public, who was out walking their dog, raised the alarm at around 7.45am after becoming concerned for the welfare of the lady.

The woman, who is believed to be in her seventies and from Barnstaple, was wandering around in the road and appeared to be very confused, according to police.
The woman, who had no apparent injuries but was very cold, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to North Devon District Hospital to be checked over.

Around three police cars attended the scene and officers carried out enquiries to locate the woman’s family. They have been informed.
Police were still trying to figure out whether the woman had left her home or a residential home but believe she hadn’t wandered too far.
