Preview: Old time string band Medicine Creek in Kings Nympton and Winkleigh
MEDICINE Creek, a foot stomping old time string band from Bristol, perform in the next live music instalment from Beaford Arts. The villages of Kings Nympton and Winkleigh will be welcoming the three musicians this weekend.
The band specialise in rootsy bluegrass and alt-country, reinventing dark tales of murder and mayhem from frontier times with gospel-flavoured harmonies and violin abuse.

Medicine Creek released their self-titled debut EP in March 2011. Band members are Nuala Honan, Aaron Catlow and Dorian Sutton – Aaron and Dorian are also members of Sheelanagig and visited North Devon as part of their sell-out tour in spring 2010.
"We are really looking forward to welcoming Medicine Creek to North Devon," said Beaford Arts' Beth May. "After the sell-out gigs from Moscow Drug Club last season and The Roving Crows earlier this season, I know our audiences and the staff here are excited to see what Medicine Creek have to offer. There's no doubt it will be a great night out for everyone."
