Proposals for new solar farm near Holsworthy revealed
Proposals for a new solar farm between Holsworthy and Launceston have been revealed.
A public exhibition is to be held next week to discuss proposals for the new eight megawatt solar farm at West Venn Farm, near Ashwater.

Plans for the new solar farm, which is to be built on 16.5 hectares of land approximately two miles north west of Ashwater, suggest it will provide energy for more than 2,000 homes.
It would consist of rows of angled photovoltaic (PV) panels mounted on steel frames which would allow room for sheep grazing between and below the rows.

Nick Richardson, Solar Securities director, said: “Our proposal at West Venn Farm could generate power for more than 2,000 homes while retaining the land for grazing. The public exhibition is an opportunity to explain our plans and answer any questions that the community may have.”
Solar Securities is holding the public exhibition next Thursday at Ashwater Parish Hall between 1pm and 7pm.
