Pupils at South Molton Community College to run their own business this Christmas
PUPILS at South Molton Community College are using their initiative to make money this Christmas.
As part of their GCSE, the 12 Year 10 pupils decided to set up their own market stall, selling decorations they have made themselves.

Starting on November 29 the students will sell their products once a week every Thursday in South Molton Pannier Market.
The idea was thought up by the students as a way of learning first hand how to run a business.

Louise Kemp, head of the course, said all the decorations were unique and, where possible, had been made using sustainable products.
"This is a scheme that the kids have come up with. They are making the products and they are going to sell them down at the market and run a successful business.
"They are really enthusiastic about it. It is lovely the way they have organised themselves. I hope that they are going to get an idea of how to run a business."
The products will mainly include hanging decorations such as baubles, but the pupils have also been creating bird feeders to sell.
Any proceeds from the sale of the decorations will go back into a business fund to be used in other projects within the school.
