Pupils sew giant tapestry to celebrate biosphere
A GIANT tapestry is being put together by pupils at a Braunton primary school as part of National Biosphere Week.
Caen Primary School pupils have been working with North Devon artist Kenneth Williams, who has been inspiring them to use the environment around them in their art work.

Each of the 300 pupils at the school have been given an A4 size of hessian which will be embellished using natural objects.
The hessian pieces will then be sown together to make one big display.
It is hoped the giant tapestry will be completed by Christmas. The pupils' art work from the environment-focused project will be displayed at the Elliott Art Gallery and the Braunton Countryside Centre.
Karen Crutchfield, the school's headteacher, said: "We are not sure how big the tapestry will be at this stage.
"As the school is so close to the biosphere we thought it was important to recognise the national celebration of it.
"It is an exciting project. We hope it will develop the children's understanding of the environment through art."
