REVEALED: Cheapest places to buy petrol in North Devon
New figures have revealed UK petrol prices increased by an average of 4p a litre in February.
Despite Chancellor George Osborne revealing just now that the September fuel hike has been scrapped, prices have still experienced the biggest rise since January 2011 as a result of a falling pound and higher oil prices.

An AA spokesman confirmed: "In the past month alone the average UK cost of petrol has gone up from 138.32p to 139.91p a litre, culminating last week in the latest price surge, peaking at 140.03p."
In light of this the Journal can reveal the cheapest places to buy petrol in the region based on figures retrieved from petrolprices.com.

In Barnstaple, where competition is high, the two petrol stations currently offering the cheapest unleaded petrol are Pilton Bridge Services in Pilton Causeway and Sainsbury's in Roundswell who both charge 136.9 pence per litre.
Tesco Extra in Barnstaple and Tesco in Rose Lane both charge 138.9 pence per litre. Taw Garage Service Station in Barbican Road were listed as charging 139.9 pence per litre.
In Bideford the cheapest petrol can be bought at Morrison's in Kingsley Road who are currently charging 137.9 pence per litre. Blights Motors in Clovelly Road and Bideford Service Station, next to Morrison's in Kingsley Road, both charge 139.9.
In Ilfracombe the cheapest petrol station is Ilfracombe Service Station in the High Street charging 141.9 pence per litre compared to On A Hill at Lynton Cross who charge 142.9 pence per litre.
In Holsworthy, Bude Road Garage currently offers the cheapest unleaded petrol at 138.9 pence per litre compared to 142.9 pence per litre at Southcott Garage in Launceston Road.
