RACHEL RUSSELL defended superbly to lead Carol Anne Amethysts to their first victory in the North Devon League second division.
Despite South Molton Falcons' slick work in mid-court, Amethysts were able to put 32 goals past them to win by 14.
Carol Anne Emeralds' Charlotte Mock shot accurately throughout a 40-28 win over Venners Bakery Adders.

In the third division, second-placed Venners Anacondas continued to demonstrate their skills with an outstanding 49-6 victory over Hartland Harriers.
The return of their captain, Penny Collis, following injury added composure in attack and enabled Helena Sarney to resume her role as the play-maker in the attacking third.
Carol Anne Quartz and Carol Anne Jets pulled clear towards the end to win their fourth division matches against North Devon Homes Stars and Gater Girls respectively.
