NORTH DEVON Raiders will hold their first training session on Sunday.

Players who want to join the new rugby league club can register at Pottington Road in Barnstaple from 1pm before taking to the field for a coaching session and game of touch rugby at 2pm.

Raiders spokesman Keith Fillingham said: "Anyone interested in the Raiders, either as a player, supporter or helping behind the scenes, is welcome to come along, have a chat and give league a try.

"Taking into account the fact many of the players will have had a hard game of union the day before, we won't be expecting a full-on session, more a chance to discover the differences between the two codes and explain the laws."

Players are asked to take full playing kit, although a limited amount of kit will be available on payment of a donation to SOS Children's Villages.
