He has been training five times a week since August and is in excellent shape ahead of the semi-final against the London area champion on Saturday, November 24.
Stanbury booked his place in the last four at Newport in emphatic style, beating Adam Edmundson, of Pembroke ABC.
Known for his strength and aggression, Stanbury showed another side to his game, patiently picking his shots and moving intelligently. Edmundson needed a standing count in the second round as the Combe Martin boxer took control.
On Saturday, Bideford bantamweight Kyle England fights in the Senior Novice Championships in Norwich.
