Mill Road in Barnstaple remains closed this morning following a large fire in a workshop on the corner of Rolle Street and Pottington Road last night.

The environment agency has issued a flood warning for the River Yeo in Barnstaple. The warning, which advises residents to ‘take immediate action’ for flooding is in place from Snapper to the Old Water Mill including the Fish Farm, Underwood Meadows and The Old Water Mill.

Flood alerts, which warn residents to ‘be prepared’ for flooding are in place for the Barnstaple, Braunton, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin area. The Caen and Bradiford Water are on alert as are coastal streams from Braunton to Combe Martin.

There are no weather warnings in place by the Met Office.
