Stags' property agents were on hand to give advice and numerous viewings and valuations were booked during the day, and many potential buyers registered with the estate agent.

James Green, partner at Stags, said: "We are constantly striving for different property marketing initiatives and this event gives us the opportunity to not only get our properties to the Home Counties but also gives Surrey buyers the chance to speak to our very knowledgeable team.

"Our roadshows have been increasing in popularity over the past four years and we look forward to another event later in the year."

The roadshow aims to save people from making the journey down to the West Country themselves and to help people find out more about living here.

HOUSE hunter numbers hit a five-year high according to new figures from the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA).

The data shows the average number of people looking to buy residential property in January with an estate agent reached 314.

This is the highest monthly figure since September 2007 when the average peaked at 326.

The NAEA also said that these positive results have led to a rise in sales, taking the average of agreed monthly sales from five to seven per estate agent.

Furthermore, the number of first-time buyers reached its highest point in January for two years, taking 25 per cent of overall property sales.
