School gets new composter
ILFRACOMBE Junior School has installed its second food waste composter to give pupils hands-on experience of recycling
The In-Vessel Composter, supplied by Filleigh company Ridan, turns waste from the school's kitchen into compost, which the children then use to grow vegetables in the school's garden.
Teacher Chris Howard, who oversees the school's recycling activities, said: "Our pupils may be young but they have a very grown-up attitude in their appreciation of our collective responsibility to protect our planet and our ever-reducing natural resources."
