THE HODGSON Insurance Kingsley League regained the Pivot Trophy with an entertaining 4-3 win against the North Devon Journal League at Torrington.

Dave Sharp of Launceston club Phoenix Rising settled the annual charity fixture with the winner midway through the second half.

Kyle Aldridge (Phoenix) put them ahead before North Devon, represented by Intermediate One champions Landkey Town, hit back through Rob Paton and Jon Madge.

Superb finishes from Black Torrington pair John O'Donoghue and Daniel Andrew put Kingsley 3-2 up and Claudio Pinto headed the equaliser before Sharp's winner.

The match raised £214 for cancer charities, including an £83 donation from Landkey.

After teaming up for an impressive display in midweek, players from Black Torrington and Phoenix Rising were back on opposing sides in the Hutchings Cup.

Three goals in a 10-minute spell, two from Dean Allin and a cracker from James Lock, sent Black Torrie on their way to a quarter-final victory.

O'Donoghue scored twice in the closing stages to settle it 5-3.

In the league, Holsworthy striker Ian Rowe made his long-awaited return from a knee injury in the 3-1 win over Kilkhampton.

Rowe, who has helped run the third team this season and is now the first-team assistant boss, went on to score in the last five minutes after Rob Hambly netted twice.

Bradworthy beat Morwenstow with a late winner from Jake Nixon after Chris Balsdon's rare goal was cancelled out by a penalty from Will Bryant for the Cornishmen.
