'Slave' auction aims to raise funds for hospice
THEY are more used to auctioning livestock and land, but next Thursday, July 15, a very different set of lots will come under the Kivells hammer at Kings Nympton parish hall.
Members of the North Devon Group of Young Farmers Clubs have volunteered their time and skills to become slaves for a day to help raise funds for North Devon Hospice.
Buyers will be able to bid for their own slave offering skills which include tractor driving, milking, grass cutting, mole-catching and babysitting.
The auction begins at 7pm. Admission is £5 and includes pasties, a bar and live music.
County YFC Chairman Mark Davis from Kivells will oversee the proceedings.
Pre-sale catalogues and tickets are available from Liam Turner on 01769 572414 or turnerliam@hotmail.com or pick up a catalogue from The Grove Inn in Kings Nympton or Mole Valley Farmers South Molton.
