“I suppose we should be grateful this survey only looked at streets and not villages, otherwise north Devon could probably have taken most of the top 50!
Lets not forget at the moment any high speed roll out will benefit less than 2% of our area as things stand. The vast majority of north Devon doesn't even have second generation broadband yet let alone high speed.”

“Oh dear 'accom'. You have no idea at all. Try visiting any local computer class. The 'silver surfers' are alive and well and availing themselves of the digital age very well thank you. I've even known one student in her 90's. Skype is their favourite, enabling people to keep in contact with family, not only in this country but all over the world.”

“@by accom Don't be such a narrow minded fool, your generalization that the elderly don't know how to use technology is completely miss-founded. I live in Fremington and can assure you that the demographic is not only made up of OAP's.
I completely agree with this article as i currently get 0.251 MB/sec download which is totally unacceptable by any standard even with the introduction of Fibre into Barnstaple, we will still be left in the cold.”

“Seeing as by definition all Fremington residents are at least 80, therefore completely allergic and hostile to all things modern, including computers, this doesn't really matter.”
